IIMS members from UAE branch named as Awards finalists

Three members of IIMS based in Dubai were nominated for awards at the recent IIMS Silver Jubilee Awards for Excellence in Marine Surveying.  The ceremony to present the awards was held in London.

Finalist in the Rising Star category
The nomination for Delzin read: ‘Delzin stepped ashore in 2015 and has taken up surveying as a profession with Constellation Marine Services with dedication and outstanding performance. In order to further develop his managerial skills, Delzin has embarked on an executive MBA with evening classes conducted every alternate week with the support and co-operation of his present employer’.

Mr Uday Moorthi and Quest Marine LLC
Finalist in the Customer Focus category
The nomination for Uday read: ‘Quest Marine LLC identifies client’s requirement and picks the best resources to provide the necessary consultancy services for ships, cargo and project requirements. They are driven to meet and surpass customer’s expectation at all times. Over the last five years Quest Marine has achieved no customer complaints and scores a customer satisfaction rating of 85%’.

The nomination for the Customer Focus award read: ‘It must be highlighted that team Constellation is a motivated group of surveyors. They have relentlessly represented with distinction various shipping lines on behalf of charterers for cargo discharge expediting, pre-discharge cargo condition, supervision of heavy lifts and project cargoes. They have a “can do” attitude. There have been times when our service requests have has been so demanding with short notice – yet they dealt with them in a professional manner’.

Capt Zarir Irani and his business Constellation were nominated in the Marine Surveying Project of the Year for submitting and successfully completing the material management plan for a highly reputed nuclear plant by sea and land transportation, storage and handling of project cargo. This immense project went on for the entire first quarter of 2015. The final report was 311 pages of pure narrative, diagrams and crucial photographic evidence of important aspects of the assignment.
